British satirist Dan Bull was taken aback one morning when he discovered his two cats, Jimmy and Sammy, fixated on a wild fox that was peacefully slumbering right at his back door.
The unusual encounter left Bull in awe as neither the feline duo nor the vulpine intruder displayed any signs of defensiveness or animosity towards one another; instead, they seemed surprisingly at ease in each other’s presence.
Intrigued by this unexpected visit, Bull couldn’t help but wonder about the behavior of the fox. Normally, these cunning creatures are known to be active during the cover of darkness, making their daytime appearance all the more remarkable.
“The fox was curled up asleep at my back door. Foxes are normally nocturnal and will run away if they spot you anywhere near. But I just sat there for ages chilling with this fox and two of my cats Jimmy and Sammy. I sensed no hostility from either side, just a relaxed inquisitiveness,” Bull shared, still amazed by the peaceful coexistence unfolding before his eyes.
Curiosity got the better of Bull, prompting him to seek guidance on what to do in case the fox decided to return. He reached out to a local fox welfare society, hoping to gather some insight into this rare encounter.
The society, appreciative of Bull’s concern for the well-being of the fox, offered to provide him with treatment for mange, a skin condition commonly found in foxes. “No, I am not ill, I was lying on my stomach and talking as quietly as I could. I have also contacted a fox welfare society who have offered to send me some treatment for mange that I can leave out with some food, which will hopefully help this fox’s fur problem. And yes, I will clean the windows! Good news all round,” Bull reassured his audience, addressing the perplexed viewers who had noticed his unusual voice in the video.
With the promise of aid for the fox’s fur problem, Bull felt a sense of relief and gratitude. He eagerly awaited the treatment from the fox welfare society, hopeful that it would alleviate the fox’s discomfort.
