The DeLorean DMC 12 remains a cult favorite despite the presence and subsequent fading away of numerous iconic cars. This rear-engine two-passenger sports car brought a futuristic charm to the early 80s but failed to endure in the highly competitive power-dominated industry due to its inadequate engine.
The company resurrected this nostalgic ride last year as an electric avatar after years of anticipation, with production scheduled for 2024. This provides concept designers with another opportunity to unleash their imagination and present a DeLorean from a new and invigorating perspective.

Behold the DeLorean All Roader, an innovative concept that combines a sports car with off-road capabilities. This electric vehicle, based on the original DeLorean design, has been modified to cater to adventurous spirits. While equipped with a 4×4 drivetrain for tackling rough terrain, the appearance suggests a less rugged ride.
Jeremy has redesigned the vehicle to include roof rails for winter ski transportation or loading other adventure equipment. The engine is positioned at the rear, while the spacious front hood allows for convenient storage of luggage and essential items, enabling the interior to be solely dedicated to relaxation when parked. The rear windshield descends to accommodate an additional wheel carrier, which adds a distinctive touch to the DeLorean’s rear profile.
The front grille has been updated with LED headlights, while the rear features lively taillights. The white paint job balances the overall sharpness, although the black rims provide contrast. However, if you plan on driving it on rough roads, the ride height should be increased with dampers for added confidence.
Compared to the upcoming Alpha 5, which has a boxy and contoured profile, this one subtly retains the original DeLorean’s DNA. I would always choose the unique personality of this DeLorean over the inevitable Alpha 5, which will resemble any other sports car.
