During Noor Riyadh light festival in December 2023, six Guinness World Records were broken. Dutch design studio DRIFT used 3,000 drones to create Desert Storm, mimicking bird swarm movements.

The performance broke two records: the largest drone bird swarm ever flown and the most drones used in a week for the festival.

Noor Riyadh aims to transform the Saudi Arabian capital into a creative hub and featured installations by renowned artists such as Janet Echelman and Vhils. An exhibition and series of workshops and talks are ongoing until March 2, 2024, exploring themes of mythology, astrophysics, and light.
