Czech photographer Bára Prášilová has established a distinctive niche with a style that combines absurdist humor, striking beauty, playfulness, and a hint of cruelty, all driven by her unwavering pursuit of perfection.
Her visual world is filled with imagined memories of events that never occurred, and explorations of possibilities that might have unfolded if we had relinquished our self-imposed restrictions. She frequently crafts her own props, which she subsequently incorporates in post-production using the advantages of digital photography. By blending the boundaries between commercial photography and fine art, Bára is spearheading a unique genre. Her outstanding work has garnered numerous accolades and been showcased in exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
She has achieved several notable milestones, such as being chosen as a Quiksilver ambassador in 2009, receiving the title of Photographer of the Year from the Academy of Design of the Czech Republic, and being honored as a Czech Grand Design recipient in both 2009 and 2011. Additionally, she was recognized as a distinguished winner of the Hasselblad Masters World Competition in 2014.
