Absolute Winner: My Copyright By Patrice Quillard

The winners of the 2023 Black and White Photo Awards, which honor monochromatic artistry, are now in the limelight. This esteemed photography competition celebrates the magnetic charm of black and white and has surpassed expectations this year on a global scale.

The 2023 competition ran from January 1st to June 15th and received submissions from nearly 1700 photographers across 92 nations. The competition culminated in champion announcements on August 19th, which coincided with World Photography Day. In total, around 3000 monochrome images were contributed, covering five categories: Architecture, Street, Portrait, Fauna and Flora, and Landscape.

In an artistic spectacle, Patrice Quillard from Froberville emerges as the “Absolute Winner” with his opus “My Copyright.” Quillard’s lens captured an elegant gelada primate in a captivating gaze, revealing its dominance. Quillard explains, “For a brief moment, he turned, looked intensely at me, and I understood his troop leadership. An unforgettable moment, exactly what I aimed to capture.”
