Mike Davis, a self-taught modern surrealist painter from San Francisco, embarked on his artistic journey in 1997.
Davis’ art is influenced by a variety of sources, including his mother’s woodworking and hand-tooled leather projects at home, as well as the art of ancient civilizations, surrealism, and the Flemish masters of the Northern Renaissance. His works are intricate surrealist compositions that depict symbols of mortality, folly, and hubris.
