Rohit Shroff, one of the co-founders of Holidify, discussed the project’s origins. Shroff and Kovid Kapoor, his friend and co-founder, had a desire to establish their own company for a long time. Their mutual love of travel and recognition of the lack of trustworthy and all-encompassing information in the industry motivated them to launch their platform, Holidify, in 2014.
The illustrations depicting the contrast between ‘tourists’ and ‘travelers’ originally stemmed from a casual chat among team members, which underscored the distinct viewpoints and methods of traveling. Shroff stresses that the crucial distinction lies in how travelers are more inclined to venture beyond their familiar surroundings and truly engage with the customs and traditions of the places they visit.
Holidify assists travelers in organizing trips throughout Asia and has extended its scope to include Australia, Africa, and Europe. Users can select destinations, discover attractions, and obtain essential information through their travel guides. The platform also provides personalized packages through its network of more than 3,000 travel agents and collaborates with online travel agencies to create accommodations listings.
Shroff observes that travel patterns differ by season and location, with a rise in curiosity post-pandemic and a growing fondness for combining remote work with vacations. Places that are aesthetically pleasing on Instagram attract many tourists, with distinctive encounters and visually stunning locations becoming more in-demand.
