Fallas, the traditional festival celebrated mainly in Valencia and its surrounding regions, holds a special place in Gallego’s heart. The festival, which takes place annually from March 15th to March 19th, showcases large, elaborate sculptures made of wood, cardboard, and papier-mâché known as “ninots.” These sculptures serve as a form of artistic expression, often poking fun at political figures, celebrities, or current events in a satirical manner.

During the festival, the streets come alive with these colorful sculptures, adding a festive atmosphere to the city. However, the pinnacle of the celebration comes on the final night when the sculptures are set ablaze in spectacular bonfires known as “cremà.” This ritualistic burning symbolizes the renewal of life and the transient nature of existence, creating a mesmerizing display of flames and art merging into one.
