Bergomi Petrol Pump 1960

The Fisogni Museum, situated in the vicinity of Milan, Italy, is exclusively devoted to exhibiting petrol station pumps and other related collectibles. Guido Fisogni, the initiator of the museum, initiated the collection of these pumps more than three decades ago.

Sylvanus Bowser invented the first fuel pump in 1885, and John J. Tokheim patented the initial gasoline pump in 1901. The initial pumps utilized calibrated glass cylinders or small globes to measure and distribute fuel.

The Fisogni Museum distinguishes itself not only through its vast collection of gasoline station pumps, but also through the aesthetic allure and meticulous attention given to each display. These pumps are restored with great care, painted in vibrant hues, and embellished with fonts crafted by distinguished graphic designers. The synthesis of practicality and artistic ingenuity transmutes these pumps into captivating works of industrial art.
