Giselle Dekel was born in Vienna, Austria, and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. She developed a keen interest in patterns and pursued studies in arts during high school. Later, she attended Shenkar College in Israel to specialize in Textile Design.

She aspired to be a textile designer, but the lack of opportunities in that field crushed her dream. She begrudgingly settled for mundane, non-creative jobs, which left her feeling despondent and unsatisfied. She yearned for a creative outlet to express herself through art. Eventually, after a lengthy period of experimentation, she rekindled her artistic passion and embarked on a journey of illustration.
